About the author
Gerardo Esquivel has a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, a master’s degree in Economics from El Colegio de México, and a Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard University. He is currently a professor and researcher at the Centre for Economic Studies in El Colegio de México, where he has collaborated since 1998. Gerardo Esquivel is a member of the National System of Researchers Level III.
